A Oaxaqueña mother and her two daughters are lay to rest in Hollywood Forever Cemetery

After the fatal accident, where la Oaxaqueña immigrant Saida Méndez-Bernardino and her two young daughters lose their life, the three will be buried this Sunday, September 9, 2012, in the Hollywood Forever Cemetery in Santa Monica, California.

The accident happened around 7:30am when a driver, driving in the wrong way and may have been driving at a high speed, impacted the minivan Saida Méndez-Bernardino was driving. The young woman had just dropped off her eldest daughter, Araceli, at the junior high and was heading to drop off Hilda at her school.

Before the funeral this Sunday, a service is programmed this Saturday, September 8, 2012 at 12pm-4pm at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery, 6000 Santa Monica Blvd. Hollywood, CA 90038. Later, 4pm-7pm a rosary is scheduled at 7377 Santa Monica, Blvd. West Hollywood, CA, 90046.

The burial will be this Sunday September 9, 2012 at 10:30am at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery.

The sudden death of Saida and her two small daughters represent a tremendous lost for Araceli Cruz (daughter of Saida from her first union) only survivor of this tragedy, for Juana Bernardino, Saida was her only child; and, for the husband of the decease, Hilario Cruz, who lost all three all at once.

The Binational Front of Indigenous Organization since the news of tragic accident with aim of assisting the sisters, Juana and Monserrat Bernardino, members of our organization (the later mentioned is the current State Coordinator for the Woman’s Affair), have made available a bank account for donations to assist in the burial expenses for the victims.

Beyond the difference that may exist between the family of the husband, Hilario Cruz and the Bernardino Family due to the donations that will be collected for this tragedy, FIOB stand aside of any family disputes. We reiterate our intention to support our members as best as we can in emergency situations.
