VISION
Be a strong, self-sufficient and constructive binational indigenous organization

MISSION
Contribute in the development and self-determination of the migrant and non-migrants indigenous communities, as well as struggle for the defense of the human rights with justice and gender equity at the binational level.

FIOB is a community-based organization and a coalition of indigenous organizations, communities, and individuals settled in Oaxaca, Baja California and in the State of California in the United States. This organization was founded on October 5, 1991 in Los Angeles, California. its mission and vision are the following.

FIOB established the Centro Binacional para el Desarrollo Indígena Oaxaqueño, Inc. (CBDIO, INC.) or Binational Center for the Development of Oaxacan Indigenous Communities as a 501(c)(3) entity in the United States in order to apply for funding to support the communities with development and educational programs.
